Baby Shower

Here are a few pictures from the baby shower my mother-in-law had for me last Saturday. We had a great turnout and I got a lot of really nice things. We are busy getting everything in place and ready for his arrival. With the baby shower his nice neat room is now clutter again. I will have to begin washing everything to get it ready and put away.

Pictures of Evan's Room and Pregnancy Update

Here are the pictures I have been meaning to get up since my last post. We have been very busy getting the house rearranged. Justin has been wonderful helping with putting furniture together and moving furniture. For those of you who have never seen our home Evan's room doubles as the guest room. There is still a queen size bed so that when Grandma and Grandpa come they have a place to sleep. Thanks in advance Mom and Dad for agreeing to come down for those first two weeks! We are looking forward to having you here and meeting your new grandson! My Mom is the queen of getting babies started on a schedule so that will also be much appreciated. We are getting more anxious as the due date approaches. I for one will be very glad when this little one joins us and the discomforts of pregnancy are over. Overall I have felt better the past few weeks than I have in quite some time. The less room Evan has to move it seems the more he tries too! It is such an incredible feeling and one of the things I'm really going to miss after he's born. They have set the due date between July 1-7. My original due date was July 7 but With the ultrasounds and the way I'm measuring they are moving it up. The doctor says they definitely won't let me go past July 7 so either way he'll be here by then! The pictures of me have been taken in the past week. I am going to try and take one once a week from here on out.

Nesting!

Well, much to my poor husband's dismay I have entered the nesting stage of the pregnancy! Full force I might add! We finished putting all the nursery furniture together and rearranging the room over this past week. On Saturday night I got to thinking about a list of things I want to get done over the next few weeks. Washing all the walls, pulling all the furniture out to clean behind it, washing the windows, cleaning all the fans, etc. The stuff that my mom and grandma used to affectionately call "spring and fall" housecleaning. The time of year we all dreaded as kids. So, I got the idea in my head that we really needed to paint the baby's room! I mean after all that room has been sitting empty since we got married so what better time than the present to do this task. Justin just looked at me like I'd lost it then said if it would make me feel good we could do it. Thus, Monday found us at Home Depot picking out paint and supplies to paint. I got started that evening while Justin was in a meeting. We finished the job yesterday. It looks wonderful and really did feel good to get a new coat of paint on that room. Thanks to my wonderful husband for all his help and putting up with my whims! I love you Sweetheart! I will post pictures of the room after we have things moved back in.

Introductions

For those of you who know me and not Justin I thought I would give you a little background information. He was born in Huntingburg, IN Sept. 19, 1980. His parents moved to the Tampa Bay, Fl area just a year later where he has lived most of his life since then. He lived in CO for a year and then back to FL. He has one brother, Adam who lives in FL and a step-sister, Brooke who lives in MO. His mom Cheryl and step-dad Bob live just five minutes from us. His dad Kim lives in IN with his wife Regale. Justin graduated from college in 2006 with an Associates degree in web design. He works as the property manager for his mom and step-dad's 5 shopping centers. We also own our own Internet marketing business. Justin and I actually met on E-harmony.com in 2003. After meeting and dating for almost two years we got married and I moved to FL.
For those of you who know Justin and not me here is a little bit of my background. I was born July 27, 1979 in Martinsburg, PA to Mark and Bonnie Slagenweit. I grew up on a dairy farm and was homeschooled for my last 6 years of schooling. My parents still live in PA. I have a sister, Marianne who lives in OH and is married to Philip. They have two beautiful little boys. I also have two brothers, David who lives in PA with his wife, April and Jonathan who lives in FL with his wife, Tonya. I graduated in 2004 with my nursing degree. I have worked as a home health pediatric nurse since I graduated. As I said before, Justin and I married in Feb. 2005. I love being married and we have a wonderful life here in FL. Family is very important to me.
We are expecting our first child, a son who's name will be Evan Joshua Harris, the first part of July. We are very excited and nervous about this new adventure! As with marriage, you really don't know what to expect having a child until it actually happens. I do know that God doesn't give us anything we can't handle and will guide us every step of the way!

Our new blog!

Hello everyone! We are starting this blog as a way to keep family and friends updated on what's happening in our lives. Due to the fact that so many of you live in other states we thought this would be the quickest way to keep everyone up to date. I will try my best to update it every few days.
